What the 12 month unlimited mileage warranty means in practice
Every brand new diesel engine we supply is a zero-hours crate unit built to original manufacturer specification, so the warranty we issue is a genuine new-part warranty rather than a limited reconditioned-unit guarantee. Cover runs for 12 months from the date on your invoice with no mileage cap, which matters for taxi, courier, fleet and light commercial operators who can cover 40,000 miles or more in a single year. Whether the engine is fitted to a Peugeot, Citroen, Fiat, Vauxhall or Ford van driven every day, the same terms apply.
Cover in detail
The warranty covers the internal mechanical components of the long block we supply: cylinder block, crankshaft, main and big-end bearings, connecting rods, pistons and rings, cylinder head, valves, valve train, camshafts, timing drive components fitted by the manufacturer, and the oil pump. If an internal component fails through a manufacturing or material defect within the cover period, we replace the engine or supply the parts needed to put it right.
Fitting requirements that protect your cover
Diesel engines rarely fail on their own. The overwhelming majority of early failures trace back to the ancillaries carried over from the old engine, so the warranty requires the engine to be fitted by a VAT-registered garage or a suitably qualified technician. The oil cooler, intercooler, turbocharger feed and return pipes, sump, injectors and EGR circuit must be cleaned or replaced, the correct manufacturer-specification oil and filter must be used at first fill, and the fuel system must be flushed of any debris left behind by the original failure. Keep the invoice for the fitting work and any replacement ancillaries — we ask for them if a claim is ever raised.
What is not covered
Consumables, ancillaries not supplied by us, damage caused by overheating, oil starvation, incorrect fitting, contaminated fuel, continued use after a fault appears, remapping or any modification away from standard specification fall outside the warranty. Labour, diagnostic time, recovery, hire vehicles and loss of earnings are not covered. These are the same exclusions applied across the trade and they exist because they describe damage caused after the engine leaves us, not defects built into it.
Raising a claim
Stop using the vehicle as soon as a fault appears and contact us before any dismantling or repair work starts. Unauthorised strip-down makes a fault impossible to verify and will invalidate the claim. Use the online claim form with your invoice number, vehicle registration, current mileage, fitting date and a clear description of the symptoms. Our warranty team reviews each claim, confirms the next steps in writing and, where the claim is upheld, arranges a replacement engine or the required parts as quickly as our stock allows.
Records to keep after installation
Keep the purchase invoice, the fitting garage invoice and itemised receipts for oil, filters and replacement ancillaries together for the full warranty period. Service invoices should show the vehicle registration, mileage, date and oil specification used. Clear records allow our team to verify that the installation and maintenance requirements were followed without unnecessary delay. It is also sensible to photograph the engine number before fitting and retain any diagnostic reports produced when the original engine failed.
Checks during the first miles
After installation, the fitting technician should confirm oil pressure, coolant circulation, fluid levels and the absence of leaks before the vehicle returns to normal use. Follow the vehicle manufacturer’s running and servicing guidance, and investigate warning lights, unusual noise, smoke, overheating or fluid loss immediately. Prompt attention protects both the new engine and the supporting systems around it. If you are unsure whether a symptom could affect your warranty, stop the vehicle and contact us before further use.
